The storytelling walk experience: when legends come back to life

In Brocéliande, stories never sleep. Through moors, forests and valleys, storytelling walks immerse you in the heritage of Brocéliande.

One programme each season, new additions every year
Walks ranging from 2 to 6 kilometres, for experienced and novice walkers alike
A variety of visits combining fun activities and storytelling walks
Led by passionate guides and storytellers

Due to high demand during school holidays, we recommend booking your tickets online in advance, at least one day before your visit (online purchases are not available on the day of your visit). Tickets are also available at the reception desk of Brocéliande, the gate of secrets, subject to availability.

For your information, the storytelling walks are conducted exclusively in French, however if you would like to hear a story in a foreign language, it is possible to book a private walk. In this case, please contact Brocéliande, la Porte des Secrets’ ‘Groups’ service, which will put you in touch with a multilingual storyteller.

Storytelling walks in Brocéliande: legends and nature in the heart of the forest

Brocéliande, the Gate of Secrets, guardian of legends, invites you to continue your adventure.

Along the Brocéliande trail, the Gate of Secrets in Paimpont, you listened to and discovered the stories of Pierre, the forest ranger. Now, let yourself be guided beyond the walls, in the footsteps of Merlin, the fairy Morgane and the Knights of the Round Table with the storyteller guides in the heart of the Brocéliande forest.

The storytelling walks in Brocéliande are a must-do in the area, taking you on a timeless journey through nature, history and legendary tales. As you walk along the trails, words bring ancient stories to life and the landscapes become imbued with memory.

An unusual visit to Brittany

  •    Formats to suit everyone: from gentle strolls around Paimpont Pond to longer walks in the heart of the Val sans Retour (Valley of No Return) in Tréhorenteuc.
  •    Storytellers with unique voices: some embody a character, others passionately convey stories and traditions.
  •    A diverse audience: families, children, couples, groups of children or adults, history buffs and nature lovers.
  •    Different activities depending on the activity: historical tours, fun and sensory discoveries, and more.

The art of oral tradition: a living heritage

In Brocéliande, stories have always been passed down orally. The guide-storytellers offer much more than just narrated tours:

  •    They forge bonds and convey the soul of a place.
  •    They promote the local flora, fauna and heritage, while ensuring that the fragile balance of the forest is preserved.
  •    They embody the uniqueness of Brocéliande and make each walk a unique shared experience.

Every step is a discovery, every word an opening onto the world of legends. The forest comes alive as you walk, leaving you with unforgettable memories.

A little tip for a perfect day:

  •    Morning: Brocéliande, the Gate of Secrets and a visit to the seasonal exhibition.
  •    Midday: lunch in a restaurant in Paimpont or a picnic by the lake.
  •    Afternoon: a storytelling walk in the heart of the Forest of Brocéliande.
